In these difficult times, our priority is to ensure the well-being of our customers and their cars. To help you prepare for the winter months, we have put together a checklist of some things to consider when getting ready for further unpredictable times ahead. Have you booked your car in for its annual service?
SERVICE, MOT OR GENERAL MAINTENANCE
If your car is due for a service, MOT or if you have any questions regarding maintenance, please contact your nearest Service Centre who will be able to advise you accordingly.
BATTERY AND CHARGING
If you are not using your car, we recommend regularly running the engine for a short period of time. It is important to allow the engine to run so the battery can charge properly. Be sure that your car is outside when the engine is running and don’t leave it unattended.
If you have not driven your car in a while we recommend checking the pressure of your tyres – especially if you’re taking an essential trip.
If you’re not planning on driving your car for a long period of time, it’s worth considering filling up your tank to full to reduce the likelihood of any condensation building up.
If left for a while, a car’s brake discs can begin to corrode. To prevent this from happening, roll your car back and forth a few metres every so often if it is safe to do so. This will also help prevent your tyres from developing flat spots. At Currie Motors we will check your brake pads, discs and brake fluid level if required. Please ask for a quote.
We understand that it is more important than ever to protect your car. Having Breakdown cover means that help is on hand should you need it.
